The Ghorepani Poon Hill trek is ideal throughout the year, but the best times to visit are during spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) when the skies are clear and the mountain views are at their best. Accommodation during the trip includes comfortable hotels in Pokhara and cozy teahouses along the trekking route.
Meals provided during the trek are mostly traditional Nepali dishes like dal bhat, as well as other simple options such as noodles, pasta, and soups, with vegetarian choices widely available. Trekkers are advised to bring essentials such as comfortable trekking shoes, layered clothing, a raincoat, sun protection, a water bottle, and a basic first-aid kit. No prior trekking experience is required, but a moderate level of fitness will help you enjoy the walk comfortably. The trek reaches a maximum altitude of 3,210 meters at poon hill, so the risk of altitude sickness is minimal. All necessary permits, including the TIMS card and Annapurna Conservation Area Permits (ACAP), are arranged by Rambler Nepal Treks. Internet and charging facilities are available at some teahouses for a small fee. You’ll be accompanied by an experienced, English-speaking guide throughout the journey, and porters can be arranged upon request.
