Getting to Nepal is easier than you might think! The main entry point for international travelers is Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) in Kathmandu, the capital city. Several international airlines operate regular flights to Kathmandu from major cities across Asia, the Middle East, and Europe.
If you’re coming overland, Nepal also shares borders with India and China. You can enter Nepal through several land border crossings, especially from cities like Delhi, Varanasi, and Lhasa.
Entry Options:
- By Air: Direct international flights to Kathmandu from cities like Doha, Dubai, Delhi, Bangkok, Istanbul, Kuala Lumpur, and more.
- By Land: From India via border points such as Sunauli, Raxaul, and Kakarbhitta. From Tibet (China), the overland route through the Kerung border is also an option.
Travel Tips:
- Most travelers require a tourist visa, which is available on arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport or online through the Department of Immigration Nepal.
- Make sure your passport is valid for at least 6 months from your date of entry.
- It’s best to book flights early during peak seasons (spring and autumn).
